AESTHETICS WORKS – CUSTOM CLEAR TAILLIGHTS (THERMOFORMED SERIES)

Our custom clear taillights produced by thermoforming are a functional and visually clean alternative to the cast premium version. This series is particularly suitable for projects where clear design, flexibility, and individual post-processing are paramount.

Each light is custom-made based on the original taillight design.

Manufacturing Process

An original taillight lens serves as the basis and is used for mold creation. Based on this geometry, a mold tool is created, which processes the material using the thermoforming/deep-drawing process.

In this process, a thermoplastic material (e.g., PMMA or polycarbonate) is heated and drawn over the mold using a vacuum to replicate the basic shape of the taillight lens.

After the cooling process, the component is demolded and post-processed in several steps. This post-processing may require additional adjustments, sanding, or polishing steps depending on the vehicle model and geometry, to achieve the best possible fit and appearance.

Important Differences from the Cast Version

This variant represents a more cost-effective and technically simpler solution compared to the cast premium series:

• no manufacturer markings or OEM embossments included
• no E-markings or approval markings integrated
• higher manual post-processing required
• less fine surface structure compared to the cast variant
• more project- and custom-oriented rather than OEM-like premium manufacturing
• Painted outline to hide cut edge

Color Variants

Coloring of the material cannot be directly integrated in the thermoforming process. Colored variants can only be implemented subsequently through special glazing or coating techniques. These are realized individually upon request and at an additional cost.

Delivery Time

As this is a custom production with potential rework, the production time is generally approx. 4 weeks, depending on the vehicle model and desired finish.

• According to § 312g Abs. 2 Nr. 1 BGB, withdrawal is excluded.
• Returns, exchanges, or cancellations are not possible after production has begun.
• This product is delivered without OEM or manufacturer markings and without E-markings.
• Use on public roads may be restricted or not permitted depending on the country and version. Legal responsibility lies with the buyer.
• Due to the manufacturing process, adjustments and optical tolerances may occur, which do not constitute a defect.
